10 year-old Sam Kilburn and his family received the surprise of a lifetime when they were treated to two weeks of unforgettable memories as the recipients of the first ever #LFCDreamTicket.
Sam was born prematurely and has suffered from cerebral palsy since birth, later developing epilepsy as well. Thanks to the tireless support of his family, for the last 12 months Sam has attended the LFC Foundation’s Respect 4 All inclusive sports sessions and, along with his loved ones, Sam has rapidly become a key member of the team.
We teamed up with Liverpool FC and Thomas Cook Sport to send Sam, Charlotte, Gary and Karen Kilburn on a whirlwind adventure over two weeks, kicking off with a visit to Melwood where the Kilburns got to meet their favourite players, including Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain who surprised them with tickets for an extra-special Anfield match day experience.
On match day, LFC Legend Robbie Fowler presented Sam and Charlotte with yet another surprise – a trip for the whole family to Disneyland Paris.
Sam’s mum, Karen Kilburn, said: “It was a great privilege for our family to have been chosen and it was a fortnight we will never ever forget. Sam and Charlotte got to meet their heroes – Liverpool players and Mickey Mouse!”
